I have repeatedly shared, and injected facts about the forgotten soldiers that were lost in battle. They are not currently part of the official total but the mortal wounds came from the battlefield back home with them nonetheless.
Since September 11th, we have lost over 40,000 of our soldiers and veterans who fought and lost their lives for each one of us, whether we supported war, conflict, or our national defense strategy, or lack thereof, at the time. The sacrifice of these soldiers and veterans is significantly high, for their families, as well as their communities. The sacrifice is for us to live and explore our rights and freedoms without trampling on others, to make our lives worthy of the liberty they died protecting, and, with hope to leave our nation and our community better than we found it.
If we do not make an effort, the day after Memorial Day is somber indeed.
